I love me a preppy, classic look like the fair isle sweater I am wearing here with my color of choice (RED) rain boots.  I’m excited we finally got some sweater weather.  I got this one last year for our Colorado ski trip.  I’ve linked similar ones.  Makes for a cute outfit of the day for a little (or a lot) shopping.

If you are anything like me, you’re trying to get everybody’s gift in time for Christmas.  Today I was panicking online trying to find the perfume that my mother dearest had mentioned she wanted awhile back.  She said it’s the one Kelly Ripa wears so I had to track down the perfume Kelly Ripa tweeted and everywhere online was saying delivery after Christmas.  I live really close to the mall but at this time of year I try my hardest to steer clear of it.

I remembered a friend of mine’s mother owns a luxury department store, Joe Brand, at our mall so I texted her the name and a photo of the perfume.  It was just my luck my friend was actually on her way to the store and said she would text me as soon as she found out if they still carried it.  Awhile later I got a text, they had it!!!  I asked if they could hold it for me, I would be in as soon as I could.  She said, if you want, I can drop it off at your house on the way home.  I was like “YES!!”  And then she texted back…..wait for it…….”Do you need it wrapped?” OMG (thank you Jesus!!) YES!

So within an hour or so I went from omg I’m not going to get my moms gift on time, to it showing up at my doorstep in gorgeous wrapping paper.  Not to be confused by the gift in the photos lol…the gift in the photo is just a prop hahaha.  Well, it’s my son’s excavator or one of the other construction vehicles.

I read this quote the other day and loved it, “When you choose Joy, you feel good and when you feel good you do good and when you do good it reminds others of what joy feels like and just might inspire them to do the same.”

My friend didn’t have to come drop it off at my house.  I had already given her my credit card information.  She made the sale.  She could of had me pick it up at the store.  Or she didn’t have to wait around for them to wrap it.  I wouldn’t have known any different.  She’s pregnant, I’m sure wanted to get home but she took the time, in this hectic time of year to do a great gesture and now I can sleep at ease knowing that my mother who I love more than anything will have this exclusive perfume that she’s been wanting, Essence by Narcisco Rodriguez perfume.  (I hope she doesn’t read this before Christmas)

I will pay it forward like my dear friend did today.  Merry Christmas, don’t let the hustle and bustle of the holidays make you lose sight on the reason for Christmas in the first place.

Xoxo,

Vanessa
